The attack came a week after an Indian student named Nitin Garg stabbed to death in the city.
The incident was made the Indian government warned its citizens about the security conditions of Melbourne.

Indian men's 29-year-old was driving home with his wife from a dinner when confronted by a gang who poured liquid and then burned it.
Fifteen percent of his body suffered burns in the attack.
